Sofath: our story

As a pioneer and major player on the heat-pump market for over 25 years, Sofath is recognised for its know-how and professionalism. The company was created in 1981 in Portes-lès-Valence (Drôme, southern France) and bought in 1996 by Pierre Sabatier. In October 2008, it joined the De Dietrich Remeha Group, and now forms part of the new BDR Thermea Group. Today, Sofath is unquestionably a partner you can trust.

The Sofath® brand has been developed by Thermatis Technologies, who design, produce, innovate and implement a demanding Quality policy.

A network of 40 dealers sells and installs Sofath heat pumps throughout France.

Since the brand's creation in 1981, more than 40,000 homes in France and Europe have chosen the comfort of Sofath heat-pump systems for heating, representing a total of almost 4.8 million m² of heated floor space!
Sofath is also present in more than 20 European countries, including Belgium, Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland…

In order to respond to strong growth in demand on the heat-pump market, Sofath® practically trebled the size of its production plant in 2007, from 2,600 m² to 6,500 m².
